
Duncan Maclaren
The Old Man of the practice, Duncan is the Partner responsible for all non-litigation matters – and, paradoxically, for complaints! A member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, his main areas of work are Wills and Probate, and Estate Conveyancing
When there is available time off, he enjoys walking the dogs and gardening, and suffers Nottingham Forest .

Stephen Britton
Stephen Britton- LLB Honours Qualified in 1988 and a Partner since 1992. Part time Chairman of Employment Tribunals since 2003 and a member of Employment Lawyers Association. Stephen regularly represents employment law clients at tribunals all over the country.
Stephen is married with two children. His outside interests include sport, Christianity and Round Table

Evelyn Ford
Evelyn (commonly known as “Lindy”) has been with the firm since December 1994 and is now a Partner. She is head of our Family Department, having qualified in 1989. Lindy deals with matters relating to divorce, Civil Partnerships, children and financial issues and domestic violence, as well as pre-nuptial and pre-cohabitation agreements. She is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors’ Family Law Association), a body that promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Lindy is also a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Family Law accreditation acheme.
Outside office hours, Lindy's interests include music, gardening and crafts.

Melissa-Jane Crow
Melissa is a graduate of Nottingham Law School. She qualified in 2001, having completed her training with a Nottinghamshire firm. Melissa joined MacLaren Britton in 2005 and is now a Partner. She specialises exclusively in Family Law and is a member of Resolution (formerly Solicitors Family Law Association). Her main areas of work are children and childcare, domestic abuse, divorce and finances. Melissa is also a Resolution Accredited Specialist and a Resolution Trained Collaborative Family Lawyer.
Melissa is a former Chair of Broxtowe Women's Project and a Solicitor representative on the South Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Strategic Partnership. She is also one of a small number of lawyers who assists with Nottingham Law Centre's Free Advice Clinic.

Carole O'Connor
Carole is a Conveyancing Executive and specialises in all aspects of domestic conveyancing. She has worked for the Firm since 1976. Away from the Office in her spare time she is Past President of the Inner Wheel (the ladies part of Rotary) and raises much needed funds for charity through this organisation.

Lynford Fuller
Lynford is a specialist criminal solicitor who qualified in 1984. He is a Duty Solicitor for the Police Stations and Courts and is head of the criminal department which provides a 24 hour service 7 days a week.

Penelope Wallace
Penelope was born and originally practised in Scotland, but moved to Nottingham with her husband and two children in 1997. She passed the Qualified Lawyers' Transfer Test to convert to English law, but is not prepared to say which country has the best legal system!
Penelope has been busy with freehold and leasehold conveyancing at MacLaren Britton since 2002 and also deals with employment law issues.

Susan Thomas
Susan is a graduate of Hull University and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. She trained in private practice in Nottingham and has since worked in both private practice and local government.
She specialises in commercial and domestic conveyancing, acting for both corporate and private clients.

Lauren Charnley
Lauren joined MacLaren Britton in 2009 and specialises in general civil litigation. She qualified in 2003 having completed her training in Cornwall. Her out of work interests currently include trying to learn to play golf and home decorating.

Richard Hetherington
Richard has worked as a solicitor for many years in and around Nottingham. He specialises in Criminal law and is a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor. His extensive experience of criminal work ranges from minor road traffic offences through to the most serious crimes, including murder. In addition, Richard undertakes Wills and Probate work and is a member of the Law Society's Probate Section.

Hannah Bridgwood
Hannah joined MacLaren Britton in 2009 and specialises in Family Law. She qualified in 2008 having completed her training with another Nottinghamshire firm. Her main areas of work are children issues, domestic abuse, divorce and finances.
