Duncan MacLarenThe original founder, and still the ‘old man’ of the practice, Duncan is the partner responsible for all non-litigation matters. Widely experienced, Duncan is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and a member of Nottinghamshire Law Society’s Older Persons Committee; an organisation dedicated to the delivery of high quality legal services to those less young than they once were. His main areas of expertise are wills & probate. As a committed member of the Law Society’s Specialist Private Client Section, he adheres to their pursuit of excellence in the field of wills & probate. |

Stephen BrittonWith over twenty years’ experience, Stephen became a partner in the firm in 1992. His chief area of expertise is employment law and he regularly represents employment law clients at tribunals all over the country. He has been a fee paid Employment Judge since 2003 and is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. Stephen works closely with some of the biggest names in British industry as well as leading local firms of various sizes, offering expert legal advice on a wide range of employment issues. |

Evelyn FordEvelyn, commonly known as Lindy, has been with the practice since 1994 and is now a partner. Her comprehensive experience and expertise means Lindy is able to provide quality legal advice, specialising in divorce, civil partnerships, domestic abuse, children and financial issues, along with pre-nuptial and pre-cohabitation agreements. She is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors’ Family Law Association), a body that promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Lindy is also a Resolution Accredited Specialist in the fields of domestic abuse and financial provision. |

Melissa-Jane CrowMelissa is one of our partners. She specialises exclusively in family law and is a member of Resolution. Her main areas of expertise are children and childcare, domestic abuse, divorce and finances. Melissa is also a Resolution Accredited Specialist and a Resolution Trained Collaborative Family Lawyer. In 2009, Melissa was presented with an Enterprising Woman in the Community Award from the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her contribution to the voluntary sector. She is a former Chair of Broxtowe Women’s Project and a solicitor representative on the South Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Strategic Partnership. In addition to this, Melissa is also one of a small number of solicitors who assist with Nottingham Law Centre’s free advice clinic. |

Carole O’ConnorCarole is a conveyancing executive who has worked for the firm since 1977. She has extensive experience of domestic conveyancing; dealing with all aspects of buying, selling and remortgaging of residential properties and transfers of equity. Carole can also assist with auction pack preparation. |

Penelope WallacePenelope joined MacLaren Britton in 2002 and has concentrated exclusively focused on matters of employment law since 2008. Whilst providing expert legal advice on a range of employment issues, Penelope especially focuses on compromise agreements, discrimination and unfair dismissal work. She acts for both employers and employees in tribunal cases. |

Always non-judgmental, Lynford is able to provide expert legal advice on a wide range of criminal matters, including motoring offences. He is a Duty Solicitor for the police stations and courts, and is head of the criminal department which provides a 24 hour service, seven days a week. |
